UNEMI election: the official calendar ahead of the October 27 vote

Universidad Estatal de Milagro is preparing to elect its rector and vice-rectors for the term from February 7, 2027 to February 7, 2032. The Institutional Electoral Tribunal’s portal schedules first-round voting for October 27, 2026.

The next stages

The official PDF schedules receipt of candidacy challenges for October 15, 16 and 19, from 08:00 to 17:00, with decisions from October 20 to 22. Voting venues are scheduled for designation on October 20; campaigning ends October 24 and electoral silence covers October 25 and 26. October 27 voting is scheduled from 08:00 to 17:00. These are planned stages, not actions this report confirms as completed.

The offices being elected

The call covers the rector and vice-rectors for undergraduate education, research and postgraduate studies, and community engagement. The portal displays List A, “Vamos por más”, headed by Jesennia Cárdenas. Qualification as a candidate is not a declaration of electoral victory.

Documents before campaign claims

The Tribunal’s information is an institutional source about the process, not an independent assessment of proposals. The October 14 Resolution TEI-2026-No. 007 was reviewed: it qualifies the four List A candidates. It names Jesennia del Pilar Cárdenas Cobo for rector; Fernando Erasmo Pacheco Olea for undergraduate education; Mariuxi Geovanna Vinueza Morales for research and postgraduate studies; and Edwuin Jesús Carrasquero Rodríguez for community engagement. The resolution preserves the right to challenge qualification; it does not establish that no challenges exist. Work plans and subsequent decisions remain necessary for comparing proposals.
